State Championship Guidelines and Information

For fall state championships, teams do not have to qualify. They can not play up in age and down in classification. If you play up in age, you play in the same or higher classification (even for 8s playing 9s).

For Summer/Spring State Championships: You must play in the age and classification of the world series  you plan to attend for state. You can not play in AAA state and attend AA World. You also can not play up in age group. The only exception to this is 8KP playing 9u and they must qualify as a 9u. Only Summer/Spring State Championships meet the guidelines for World Series Eligibility.

Qualifying for Post Season Play

All Major Teams and 6u, 7AAA, 7open, 8aaa and 8open have open State Championships.  These teams dont have to qualify/earn a berth to play in state.  They must have a berth to play in a Global World Series or in the Elite World Series.  6-8U dont have to have a berth to participate in those divisions of the USSSA World Series.

All AA Teams must play in at least four (4) events prior to state in order to be eligible for the state tournament.  Teams must earn a berth to the world series in order to participate in the world series, but they can register for state and world series prior to earning their berth.

All AAA Teams must play in at least four (4) events prior to state in order to be eligible for the state tournament.  Teams must earn a berth to the world series in order to participate in the world series, but they can register for state and world series prior to earning their berths.

State Director has final approval on all teams eligibility to participate in post season play.
